A Lifetime of Service, Scholarship & Compassion

Dr. Vera Stevens Chatman Psychologist, Educator, Caregiver Advocate—And a Fellow Caregiver

I’ve walked the caregiving road for over 20 years—as daughter, spouse, and advocate—through illness, aging, and loss. I know the exhaustion, guilt, and isolation you may be feeling right now.

That personal journey drives my 40+ years as a psychologist, professor emeritus at Vanderbilt, consultant, and author. My mission: No caregiver should face this alone.

I offer practical tools, evidence-based strategies, and deep compassion to help you care for others while protecting yourself—whether you’re just starting, overwhelmed, or grieving.
